Extremely Belated Blog Post

Hi Mom, Dad, Linda, Dave, Kevin, Sarah, Jillian, Tom, Kit, Timmy, Jenn, John, Emily, Jill (M.), and others.

It has been a very long time since I last posted anything. I suppose we've been busy. I have a TON of pictures from our Easter weekend trip to Montpellier and hopefully I'll get the chance to upload them soon but the truth is that facebook is popular for a reason: it's so much easier to post stuff there. So, if you are a parent or a non-facebooker (i.e. Tom, John, Emily) and you are interested in seeing ALL these pictures, then you can ask a facebooker (Mom, Dad, I would suggest Kit; Linda, Dave, I would suggest Sarah, Kevin, or Jillian; Tom, John, Emily, I would suggest Jenn -- wait, is she still on facebook?)..

Anyways, so Montpellier was really nice and we biked to the beach there and we had mussels from the sea (I think) and we got tanned.*

Here is a guest photograph (taken by my friend Monica) of the Chateau at Xerox. I thought it looked really nice so here it is.

This is also taken by the same fine photographer from Place Victor Hugo of a super-cool rainbow that was visible in Grenoble for a very long time. Like maybe several hours I'd say.

Sadly it is no longer sunny and hot every single day but at least when it does rain we seem to get double rainbows (see above).

This weekend we might go to a rugby game of Grenoble vs. another city (which one? I don't know) and on Saturday night we'll have an Eastern Orthodox Easter feast (obv). I think we'll try to cook a turkey (if we can find such a thing in Grenoble) but if we can't find one then maybe we'll have a duck (you can see them everywhere around here.. ha ha ha.. but seriously, you can see them everywhere -- both in the rivers/lakes AND at the market in the dead form).

Hmm... what else is there? We went swimming at the pool near my work in Meylan yesterday and it was amazing. The pools in Grenoble are horrible and full of people who really don't know the first thing about public swimming and have no common sense to speak of (have I complained about this before on here?). In any case, this one in Meylan was amazing and for the first time in France we had a whole lane to ourselves and it was almost like swimmers paradise ('almost' because actual swimmers paradise would more likely be some sort of natural body of water in the outdoors surrounded by palm trees, etc. -- but you get the idea). The main problem with it though is that it's very expensive compared to the other pools. For us to go swimming it was 4 euros each which is a lot of money -- especially if you need to go at least twice a week (AT LEAST) to properly train for the ironman.

OK, I decided to be less lazy and now here are two nice (I think) pictures from our trip to Montpellier:

Above is Sandi biking in front of a cool building on the river Lez that goes all the way to the sea (the Mediterranean). The building is almost like a mini 'la défense' (in Paris) which is actually not too much of a stretch because Montpellier also has a mini arc de triomphe (which you can see in the facebook album).

And here, above, is Sandi on the beach with cool Instagram filter applied (can you see why Facebook spent a BILLION dollars on it? It's totally worth it, right?)

A la prochaine...

*maybe burned.
